Our Services
Three buckets. One partner-led team.
Rubric Financial organizes its recurring services into three buckets: Tax, Bookkeeping, and Accounting. Engage one bucket or the set, and get one partner accountable for the numbers end to end. Consulting engagements (FP&A, fractional CFO, business valuation, and financial-systems consulting) live on the Consulting hub.
Your partner replies within one business day. No per-question fees. Year-round access, not just tax season.

Consulting: everything outside the three buckets
Work that is not a recurring tax, bookkeeping, or accounting engagement lives under Consulting: FP&A build-out, fractional CFO leadership, defensible business valuation, and financial-systems, AI, and fintech consulting.
FP&A
Annual budgets, rolling forecasts, KPI dashboards, and scenario modeling that turn your books into a planning tool.
Fractional CFO
Cash-flow planning, owner and lender reporting, banking, and M&A or exit prep. Strategic finance leadership without a full-time hire.
Business Valuation
Defensible valuations for owner buyouts, buy-sell agreements, estate and gift planning, M&A, and litigation support.
Financial Systems, AI & Fintech Consulting
Financial-systems modernization, AI adoption in finance, and fintech product consulting. From the team that built ClariFi and operates StartupCFO.AI.
What you can count on
Three commitments, written down.
CPA-signed accuracy guarantee
If a return signed by Rubric Financial triggers a math-error notice, we fix it and pay the resulting IRS penalty, subject to your engagement letter's terms. CPA review on every filing.
One-business-day response
Your partner replies within one business day, and there's no per-question fee. Year-round access, not just tax season.
Fee-only, no kickbacks
We don't sell insurance, annuities, or investment products. Our only revenue is your monthly fee. No conflicts.
Frequently Asked
Questions we hear often
- Do I have to switch from my current bookkeeper or CPA?
- Not unless you want to. Most clients engage us for one service first (usually monthly close or tax prep), and expand over time. We can also fully replace an existing patchwork: bookkeeper, CPA, payroll provider, and CFO under one engagement.
- What accounting software do you work in?
- QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Zoho Books are our primary platforms. We also work alongside your existing tools (Stripe, Mercury, Ramp, Gusto, ADP, Carta, and others), without forcing a migration.
- How fast can you onboard us?
- Discovery call within a few business days, written proposal the next business day, and we typically begin work the week the engagement starts. Cleanup or catch-up bookkeeping for prior periods is scoped separately and runs in parallel.
- Do you handle multi-state payroll and tax?
- Yes. We register your entity in additional states as needed, run multi-state payroll, and prepare returns for every state in which you have nexus. We also flag new nexus risks before they become liabilities.
- Is the monthly fee really fixed, or does it creep?
- Fixed. Each engagement is scoped explicitly and priced at a flat monthly rate. If your business grows materially (new entities, more headcount, expanded scope), we re-scope and quote transparently before the change takes effect.
- Who actually does the work?
- Engagements are partner-led (Harry runs consulting and CFO work, Aparna (CPA) runs tax, and Nirmala (CA, CPA) leads the accounting practice), supported by an experienced delivery team. Aparna reviews and signs every tax filing. You work with the same partner every time, not a rotating contact.
- What about FP&A, CFO, and valuation work?
- Those sit under Consulting, not the three service buckets. FP&A build-out, fractional CFO, business valuation, and financial-systems and AI consulting all live on the Consulting hub, distinct from the recurring tax, bookkeeping, and accounting services here.
- Can you support a VC-backed startup?
- Rubric Financial is purpose-built for small businesses and individuals, not for VC-scale startups. For that, use our sister practice, StartupCFO.AI, which is purpose-built for venture-backed founders. If you're raising or have already raised, that practice has board-pack templates, R&D credit screening, 409A coordination, and cap-table workflows tailored to your stage. Same firm, same partners, optimized for the way startups run.
Not sure where to start?
Tell us about your business, we'll recommend the right bucket (or the right consulting engagement) and price it transparently.
